Thanks for the offer. I’m Back!
In late 2020, I made the hard choice to decline your offer as an Engineering Manager. In the last email you sent, your team indicated that they’d reserve a place for me at Doctolib if I were ever in the market again.
I realize that was a long time ago, but here I am!
I’m Excited!
As I said then, “I’ve never declined a job offer I wanted so much.” I’d love to see if there is still a place for me at Doctolib. I saw your recent post about this role or other Engineering Manager roles and am sure I’d be a good fit.
I’ve attached my updated resume. If we can find a way to make something work, please reach out!
Why I’m a good fit
These key areas are central to my leadership style and make me a good match:
- Humility and Self Regulation: I love that Doctolib embraces humility as one of its core values. I have come to believe humility is highly predictive of another often overlooked trait - the capacity to self-regulate. Over a career, the capacity for humility and self-regulation enables continuously improvement at a much faster rate than those who lack the capacity for self-regulation.
- Silver Platter Service: I try to ensure that my teams deliver to high standards, or what I like to call “Silver Platter Service” - delivering so that collaborators have everything they need at their finger tips before they even realize they need it.
- Customer Impact: I also believe that technology is a tool and competency to be utilized in pursuit of customer expectations.
Personal Creativity and Empathy
While I’ve spent the last eight years in Berlin, I’m originally from the US. As a kid, I grew up moving frequently - experiencing extreme cultural and socio-economic diversity. I attended one of the most exclusive schools in South America and one of the poorest rural schools in the US Southwest. This early adversity and diversity helped me to grow into an empathetic and creative leader.
